What is HomeCare?
HomeCare of Memorial Hospital provides quality health care services in the home setting to maintain or restore health and comfort. Through contact with your physician, family, and community resources on a regular basis, we can reduce the need for emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and nursing home placements.
Who is a candidate for HomeCare Services?
HomeCare offers a variety of professional health care services to homebound persons of all ages, from infants to the elderly, who otherwise could not get the care needed.
How do I receive HomeCare Services?
If you think you are a candidate for home care services you may call our offices in Martinsville at (540) 632-8558 or Stuart at (540) 694-2272 for more information. If you qualify, a registered nurse will visit you in your home for a comprehensive assessment and evaluation.
Who pays for HomeCare Services?
Medicare and Medicaid will pay for home care services that meet all the following criteria:
- Services must be ordered by a physician.
- Patient must be homebound.
- Patient requires intermittent skilled services provided by a registered nurse or therapist.
- Services required are reasonable and necessary.
Coverage for private insurance varies with each policy. We will contact your insurance company to check on coverage requirements before admission to our program.
Private pay patients are accepted.
HomeCare will bill Medicare, Medicaid, or your insurance company for you. Patients are responsible for any charges incurred that are not covered by their insurance carrier.
