Accreditations. Memorial Hospital received a full three-year accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations in 2005. Our Home Health and Hospice programs also received a full three-year JCAHO accreditation in 2005. Likewise, Memorial Hospital's Laboratory Services received a full two-year JCAHO accreditation in 2005.

 

Additionally, Memorial Hospital is accredited by the American Association of  Blood Banks and certified by the American College of Surgeons for our Community Cancer Program. Our Mammography program is accredited by the American College of Radiology and certified by the Food and Drug Administration. Our Vascular Ultrasound program is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Labs.

 

Memorial Hospital is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health, the State Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation, and by the Federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

 

The hospital participates in proficiency testing of the College of American Pathologists and is an official National Institute of Drug Abuse Collection Site. We are also a member of the American Hospital Association, the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association, and the Roanoke Area Regional Health Policy Council.
